After returning from residential trips to Scotland and Ireland students from Year 6 and 7 at Pechersk Campus in Kyiv celebrated the end of the academic year by performing the songs and dances from the West End show ‘Bugsy Malone’ for the whole school to enjoy.
‘Bugsy Malone’ is a musical set in Chicago in the 1930s and the music is influenced by the jazz music of that time. Students have been studying the script in English lessons and worked with the music and dance teachers to learn the songs together with complex dance routines to develop skills in the performing arts of singing, dancing and acting.
The assembly on Thursday 15th June displayed their hard work and perseverance that they had put into this over the last few months, which has led to growth of their self-esteem and self confidence. The performance also led to skills being developed in team work and cooperation. Fellow students and teachers were very much impressed by the high standard and parents can look forward to seeing parts of this performance at the International Day concert in October.
