Teachers Gathered in Preparation for the New School Year

22 Aug 2017

On Monday the Kyiv Pechersk campus of the British International School Ukraine was full of smiling, happy looking and excited teachers who came together after the summer holidays to prepare for the beginning of the new school year. The staff met the new Principal of the school and Heads of school of our Pechersk and Nivki campuses. Everyone had a chance to chat and share summer recollections as well as discuss and plan for the forthcoming start of school on the 28th of August.

Addressing all the staff, the new Principal Mr. David Cole stressed how important it is that education today meets the needs of tomorrow since life today is so much different than it was 10 years ago and in 10 years in the future it will be so much more different than today. For example according to some sources, the top 10 in-demand jobs of 2010 did not exist in 2004. That is why the role of a teacher, an excellent teacher, is even more important today.

“Being a teacher is the easiest job in the world if you do not do it propoerly, but it is the hardest job in the world if you do it well”, said Mr. Cole.

The teachers, assistant teachers and all the personnel of the British International School Ukraine are already looking forward to meeting and greeting the students as they start a new chapter in their learning journey. The first day of school is August 28th.
