Active Floor Installed in British International School Ukraine

29 May 2018

Recently the new Active Floor technology was installed in all four schools of the British International School Ukraine in Kyiv and Dnipro. It is an interactive floor where students navigate between and play various educational games by using their feet. The new technology provides the children with the opportunity to learn by using the whole body.

Active Floor provides the game templates and the content for the various games but teachers can make their own content, tailored to various age groups, learning targets and subjects. It inspires and motivates the children to take up physical activity and learning on their own initiative – even during the breaks.

Movement supports teaching while also improving memory functions through physical activity, as a larger number of neurons, which store new information in the memory, are stimulated. With the help of interactive activity and learning games, it is never going to be tedious to repeat inflections, equations and other subject-related material.
