BISU math teacher Olena Puchko presented her own methodology of teaching math during Math Convention. The event was held for the fellow teachers from Kyiv schools and took place in the lyceum 157 on December 4th.
The Convention included interactive tasks and familiarized the participants with the innovative approaches in teaching math in Ukraine and around the world. After a lively discussion, the teachers came up with their ideas of the qualities the math lessons develop in students. They discussed what teaching methods are the most productive and effective. Moving around the circle they shared the learning and teaching experience.
Using cases from other spheres of life like business and medicine Ms. Olena showed the surprising yet logical interconnection of math with other spheres and school subjects. While solving the cases presented by Ms. Olena the teachers realized how math applies to the majority of life situations helping to analyze and take a look at them from a fresh angle.
