IB Graduation Ceremony 2021

This year we hosted an event in school with our graduating Year 13 students

On 7th June, the Pechersk campus marked the completion of the IB Diploma Programme.

In 2020 our Graduation had to be conducted online due to quarantine measures, so this year we were excited to be able to host an event in school with our graduating Year 13 students – Andrew Golub, Yelyzaveta Popova, Marsel Mullaianov, Illia Siutkin and Mario Duric (who joined us online from Serbia), their family members and honoured guests. The great ceremony started with speeches from our Principal, teachers and new Dux Litterarum (Andrew Golub). Diplomas and award certificates were distributed among the BISU graduates and top performers of the year.

Addressing the graduates, Mr Paul Hodgson, Head of IB Diploma Programme, noted: “Wherever your next steps take you, I invite you to see your experiences at BISU as part of lifelong learning, which I encourage you to use to leave every situation better than you found it”.

Following the tradition, the graduates threw their mortarboards into the air and cut a festive cake.

IB Diploma Programme was developed by a group of international school educators back in 1960s and today there are more than 3000 schools offering the DP in 147 countries worldwide.

The programme aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.

The IB Diploma Programme is recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities, and evidence suggests that higher rates of DP students go on to university and higher education study than non-IB students.

The whole BISU community congratulates the graduates on this momentous occasion and wishes them all the best in the their future. Enjoy watching the attached video (or go to our YouTube channel)  and the photo report to feel a warm, nice atmosphere of this little feast that is of paramount importance for us all.
