This week was a Kindness Week in The British International School Ukraine in which students and teachers alike supported each other with big and small acts of kindness. This has created a wonderful atmosphere in school, in which all were reminded of how little it takes to make a difference to the lives of those around us every day.
During Kindness week there were a number of activities themed around kindness to ourselves, others and the planet. These activities were worked into the daily lessons and beyond. Students were encouraged to say hello to five people they wouldn’t normally, give a compliment to someone, sit or play with someone they wouldn’t normally, hold a door for someone, say please and thank you to non-teaching staff.
At Nivki Primary campus the last day of the Kindness week was a Pajama Day, when students and teachers came to school in their pajamas. They also installed a Kindness Tree in the reception area where they hanged hearts with different small acts of kindness they did during the week.
