Royal Wedding Concert

On Friday, 18th May, the day before the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, British International School Ukraine students at the Pechersk school threw a huge celebratory concert and assembly, inviting parents and students from Nivki School to watch.

The audiences learned about the Royal Wedding and the lives of Harry and Meghan, with an informative presentation, led by students from class 8.2. This was interspersed with singing and dancing. Highlights included Sam from year 3, singing ‘It’s a Kind of Magic’ by Queen, Sofia from year 9’s rendition of ‘Love Again’ by Lara Fabian, Amina, Aisha, Mariam and Natalia performing a dance routine to the song ‘Royals’ by Lordes, and Miss Yuliya’s beautiful Whitney Houston song ‘I Will Always Love You’.

Participating in similar concerts and other performances on stage helps students grow in their self-esteem and self confidence, develop skills in team work and cooperation.One parent commented, “The performances here just get better and better. They are just fascinating to watch.”
