In October British International School Ukraine joined millions of people and thousands of organisations around the world in celebrating the World Animal Day. Students and teachers could come to school in animal costumes in exchange for a donation to a charity purpose. A total of 22, 400 UAH was raised that day from the three school campuses in Kyiv.
This money was used to purchase pet food which was donated to the Happy Paw Charity Foundation. On Wednesday, 29 November, students and teachers visited one of the animal shelters that received support from the school.
The Foundation helps various animal shelters around the country, is actively engaged in searching for new families for the homeless dogs and cats as well as promoting humane treatment of stray animals among pupils and students.
