Year 1 Students Organised Themselves a Picnic
On Friday 11th May, British International School Ukraine Year 1 students from Pechersk School went on a field trip to Vystavkovyi Tsentr Park. As the summative assessment of their Unit of Inquiry: How We Organise Ourselves, they decided to organise a picnic and invite their parents along.
Students spent time in class planning their event and thinking about what was needed, using who, what, where, when, why questions to guide them. They made invitations and decorations, prepared food to take, thought about sun safety, as well as planned activities to entertain themselves on the day. The picnic was a great success and Year 1 showed how well they could organise themselves.
