On Thursday, June 13, Year 2 students of British International School visited an ostrich farm, near Kyiv. At the farm, the students received some vegetables and bread to feed its fluffy inhabitants. First of all, they went to an enclosure with ostriches. Students fed these huge birds with cabbage, and also learned a lot of interesting facts about ostriches. The students were given an ostrich egg to handle, which they found very cool.
In addition, the students visited the mini-zoo with animals such as goats, sheep, donkeys, peacocks and raccoons. The students were very excited because they had a chance to feed and pet some of the inhabitants.
After the excursion, the students had some time for running and playing and had great fun with an old airplane they could climb into and imagine they were flying. This was followed by a delicious picnic lunch, with all the scrap food being given to the goats!
