Each year students of the British International School Ukraine perform on stage to share their learning from one of the Units of Inquiry. The children visibly show what they have learnt through song, dance, drama and many other expressive forms.
On Tuesday, 22 November Year 4 students from the Kyiv Pechersk campus presented their production on Natural Disasters. They created a play, Disaster Strike, that tells a story about the most famous volcano eruption in Pompeii. Through this play, students were demonstrating the dangerous effect of a volcano eruption. The production closed with a storm dance.
Students could display their learning through different subjects, such as dance, literature and art. They showed a great deal of confidence and really enjoyed performing on stage. The production displayed their hard work and perseverance that they had put into the preparation.
The development of and participation in such performances contribute to the students’ teamwork and cooperation skills development as well as growth of their self-esteem and self confidence.
