On Monday, 5 February, Year 4 students from Pechersk campus arranged a bake sale for the whole school community to support their learning and collect money for charity.
The students were studying about equal opportunities, as well as adding and subtracting money in mathematics, and they came up with the idea of holding a bake sale to raise money for people who are less fortunate than them. They decided to donate the money to the homeless, hoping it would give them more opportunity to regain their lives.
The class were split into 5 groups. Each group created they own menu and set the price for their own goods. Afterwards, students created posters to advertise their bake sale around the school.
The sale was a success. Students sold all sorts of cakes, biscuits, fruit, candies and juice and raised over UAH 6,000. The money was donated to the Caritas Ukraine project in support of homeless people.
