On Sunday year 6 students from the British International School Ukraine returned home from the week long residential trip to Scotland. Students from all four schools in Kyiv and Dnipro had a great time full of cultural and sports activities in the homeland of the Loch Ness monster, the kilt and the bagpipe.
During their stay in Scotland children visited Edinburgh city and the Cullen Castle where they learned more about the culture and the historical heritage of the country. On other days they undertook kayaking, sailing, climbing and water gorging, which pushed them outside of their comfort zone and encourage others to follow them into these new areas. Mountain walking took place in the picturesque Glencoe located within the awe-inspiring Lochaber Geopark in the Highlands as children tried various degrees of hill terrain.
The Scotland adventure provided children with ample opportunity to develop leadership and independence skills whilst undertaking a variety of physical challenges, mixed with the British cultural development that underpins our school.
