The PYP Exhibition was an exciting opportunity for the students to showcase the skills and understandings that they have developed over their years at Primary school and demonstrate to the school community their capabilities as responsible and independent learners.
On Wednesday, 11 April Year 6 students from the British International schools at Nivki and Pechersk started their PYP Exhibition. During the two following days they presented to other students, teachers and parents the results of 3 months of individual inquiry into the topics that they chose to investigate.
At the beginning on January students were divided into groups of 2-3 and each group developed their Central idea, which they worked at. Among them were Discrimination, Marine life, War, Animal rights, Equal opportunities etc. Each group member was responsible for investigating one Line of Inquiry.
During the inquiry process each group worked collaboratively and met at least once a week with their mentor, whose role is to provide guidance and suggestions. Students were assessed throughout the entire Exhibition by teachers and classmates and were marked on all areas of their performance including their planning, organizing, commitment and enthusiasm all being as important as the final product.
